Greater Tubatse

Greater Tubatse Local municipality is a local municipality (Category B4) within the Sekhukhune District Municipality, in Limpopo Province. The municipality boarders Makuduthamaga Local Municipality in the south, Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality in the east, Fetakgomo Local Municipality, Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality in Capricorn District, Maruleng Local Municipality in Mopani District and Mpumalanga�s Thaba Chweu Local municipality. It is situated about 150 km from Polokwane, and 250 km�s from Mbombela. Geographically the municipality is the biggest of the five (5) local municipalities in Sekhukhune district, constituting 34,3% of the area with 4�550 square kilometers of the district�s 13�264 square kilometers. Land ownership is mostly traditional and the municipality is predominantly rural with about 166 settlements, most of which are villages.� The municipality has 31 wards.read more »

Bushbuckridge

Bushbuckridge Local Municipality is one of the five constituents of Ehlanzeni District Municipality in Mpumalanga, and is bounded by Kruger National Park in the east and Mbombela in the South. It also forms part of the Kruger to Canyon Biosphere. The Municipal area provides a link to Limpopo Province and can therefore be called the gateway to the major tourism attraction points in Mpumalanga and the eastern part of the Limpopo Province. Bushbuckridge Local Municipality consists of 135 settlements and is divided into 34 wards. (www.nra.co.za)

Moretele

Moretele Local Municipality is located in an area called Moretele, which is situated far north of Pretoria in the North West province. The municipality was built in 2000, and covers an area of 1�369km2. �It is located strategically to join four provinces, namely North West, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo. �Moretele is the Setswana name for a river that runs through the area, namely Noka ya Moretele (the Moretele River).

The Municipality comprises of 24 wards, which are made up of 66 villages and plots. Most villages are ruled by 4 traditional leaders(Dikgosi) who are recognised by law and who all represent their respective tribes/communities in council.

Madibeng

The Madibeng Local Municipality is located in the Bojanala Platinum District Municipality within the North West province between the majestic ancient Magaliesberg and the Witwatersrand mountain range, and means 'the place of water'. The name is derived from the area's resources that characterise the natural beauty of an area which encompasses the Hartbeespoort, Rooikoppies, Vaalkop and Klipvoor Dams, all of which contribute to the area in terms of tourism. The Municipality is demarcated into 31 wards of which 10 fall in the urban areas (Brits, Hartbeespoort and Skeerpoort) and 21 in the rural areas and villages. It includes approximately 43 villages and 9�000 farm areas. Madibeng is centrally situated (approximately 50km from Pretoria, 55 km from Johannesburg and 60km from Rustenburg) and is easily accessible with various road networks, amongst others the N4 toll road, which is running from various directions through Madibeng to Mmabatho, as well as a railway line and airport for light aircraft.read more »

Ventersdorp

Ventersdorp Local Municipality is situated in the eastern part of the North West. It is one of the four local municipalities of Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality. It is situated 70 km from Klerksdorp/Matlosana Local Municipality, 130 km from Mafikeng and 140 km from Johannesburg. It is accessed through the N14 which connects it to both Johannesburg and Mafikeng.

The municipality covers an area of 3�764,05 km2 (Census 2011) and it is subdivided into six wards. Most of the villages in Ventersdorp can be regarded as semi-formalized villages where development is based on settlement layout plans (most of the stands were surveyed). Villages are currently managed by CPAs (Community Property Association), except Ga-Mogopa that is managed by a trust. Ownership of stands/plots within the villages is based on commercial ownership (no individual ownership exists).
