Polokwane

Polokwane Municipality is situated in the central part of the Limpopo Province. The municipality shares the name with the biggest town in Limpopo called Polokwane. Locally it shares borders with three other local municipalities within Capricorn District as well as local municipalities in Mopani and Waterberg Districts. It is the largest metropolitan complex in the north and a major economic centre with 38 wards. Its proximity to the neighboring countries of Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Swaziland makes it a perfect gateway to Africa and an attractive tourist destination. Albert Luthuli

Albert Luthuli Local Municipality is situated in the GertSibande District Municipalityof Mpumalanga, and shares its eastern border with the country of Swaziland. The municipality was named after Albert Luthuli, an anti-apartheid activist who served as president of the African National Congress (ANC) during the 1950s and 1960s. Steve Tshwete

In 1994 Middelburg and Mhluzi, as well as Hendrina and Kwazamokuhle amalgamated to form the Transitional Local Councils. In 2001, a new dispensation for Local Government came into being, whereby the country was demarcated so that every piece of land fell within the jurisdiction of a municipality. Transitional Local Councils of Middelburg and Hendrina, as well as some smaller towns, were amalgamated to form Steve Tshwete Local Municipality (formerly Middelburg Local Municipality). It is located in the Nkangala District Municipality of Mpumalanga province, South Africa. The seat of Steve Tshwete Local Municipality is Middelburg. Moretele

Moretele Local Municipality is located in an area called Moretele, which is situated far north of Pretoria in the North West province. The municipality was built in 2000, and covers an area of 1 369km2.  It is located strategically to join four provinces, namely North West, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo.  Moretele is the Setswana name for a river that runs through the area, namely Noka ya Moretele (the Moretele River).

The Municipality comprises of 24 wards, which are made up of 66 villages and plots. Most villages are ruled by 4 traditional leaders(Dikgosi) who are recognised by law and who all represent their respective tribes/communities in council.

Ventersdorp

Ventersdorp Local Municipality is situated in the eastern part of the North West. It is one of the four local municipalities of Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality. It is situated 70 km from Klerksdorp/Matlosana Local Municipality, 130 km from Mafikeng and 140 km from Johannesburg. It is accessed through the N14 which connects it to both Johannesburg and Mafikeng.

The municipality covers an area of 3 764,05 km2 (Census 2011) and it is subdivided into six wards. Most of the villages in Ventersdorp can be regarded as semi-formalized villages where development is based on settlement layout plans (most of the stands were surveyed). Villages are currently managed by CPAs (Community Property Association), except Ga-Mogopa that is managed by a trust. Ownership of stands/plots within the villages is based on commercial ownership (no individual ownership exists).
