Albert Luthuli

Albert Luthuli Local Municipality is situated in the GertSibande District Municipalityof Mpumalanga, and shares its eastern border with the country of Swaziland. The municipality was named after Albert Luthuli, an anti-apartheid activist who served as president of the African National Congress (ANC) during the 1950s and 1960s. Luthuli was the first African to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, bestowed upon him in 1961 for his activism.   (http://en.wikipedia.org).

Dipaleseng Local Municipality is situated in the southern part of the GertSibande District Municipality. Balfour is located in the heart of world-renowned coalfields and the Goldfields belt. This modern and predominantly industrial town is located in close proximity (80km) to the nationally well-known industrial areas of Johannesburg. The Balfour/Siyathemba urban area is 340km from Nelspruit and 80km from Johannesburg. The internationally known abattoir, the “biggest abattoir in Africa”, is found in Dipaleseng (Balfour town), with a vast number of by-products including inorganic chemicals, fertilizers, etc.being manufactured in the area.

Emalahleni

EmalahleniLocal Municipality is situated in Mpumalanga province, and it represents one of the six local municipalities in the Nkangala District Municipality. It forms part of the western regions of the province and borders Gauteng province. The southern parts of EmalahleniLocal Municipality form part of the precinct referred to as the Energy Mecca of South Africa, due to its rich deposits of coal reserves and power stations such as Kendal, Matla, Duvha and Ga-Nala. The southward road and rail network connect the Emalahleni area to the Richards Bay and Maputo harbours, offering export opportunities for coal reserves. Naledi

Naledi Local Municipality (NW392) covers a total area of approximately 7,258 km². This land mass is 15% of the total area of the Dr. Ruth S Mompati District Municipality area. The administrative centre of the municipality is in the town of Vryburg. The town of Vryburg is considered the agricultural and industrial centre of Dr Ruth S Mompati District Municipality. The town is the host to the 3rd largest agricultural show in South Africa, namely Vryburg Show, which attracts farmers from almost all provinces in the country as well as farmers from the neighbouring countries such as the Republic of Namibia and Botswana. This makes the municipality the main employer within the district and most significant contributor to GDP. Naledi Local Municipality is separated into five main places, namely, Vryburg town, Huhudi township, Colridge township, Stella, Devondale and Dithakwaneng village. The municipal area is surrounded by the other three local municipalities within the district, namely, Greater Taung Municipality (70km), Kagisano Molopo Municipality (70km) and Mamusa Municipality(70km). The town of Vryburg is about 140km away from Kuruman town in the Northern Cape Province and 160km from Mahikeng municipality, the administrative centre of the North West Province.
