KamiesbergMunicipality is a category B municipality (NC064) established in 2001 in accordance with the demarcation process. It serves a geographical area of 11 742 km² and is divided into four municipal wards. It has a population of 10 187with an average of approximately one person per square kilometre.

Tsantsabane Local Municipality is located within the north-eastern parts of the Northern Cape Province, and falls within the boundaries of the Siyanda District Municipality.
