Masilonyana

Masilonyana Local Municipality is within the district of Lejweleputsa. The municipality comprises five urban centres, namely, Theunissen, Masilo, Brandfort, Majwemasweu, Soutpan, Ikgogosenf, Verkeerdevlei, Tshepong, Winburg and Makeleketla including their rural areas. The administrative headquarters is in Theunissen/Masilo. It is centrally located in the Free State.

Nketoana

The Nketoana Municipality is situated within the Thabo Mafutsanyana District Municpality in the Eastern Free State. It comprises of Reitz, Petsana, PetrusSteyn, Mamafubedu, Lindley, Ntha, Arlington and Leretswana.

The municipality is 54km from Bethlehem, 240km from Johannesburg and 60 km from the N3 road. The main economic activities in the area are agriculture and retail businesses.

Nketoana Local Municipality is named after the Leibenbergsvlei River, which is Nketoana in Sesotho. The highest population density is found in the Reitz/Petsana area. The municipality accommodates approximately 60�324 people and covers an area of 5�611km2. In terms of enumeration area (EA) types, 74% of the population lives in formal residences.

Westonaria

Mpofana

The Mpofana Municipality is strategically located along the national N3 highway and is approximately 70 km from Pietermaritzburg. The Mooi River sits at the heart of the Midlands Meander with interesting attractions such as the Linen Loft and Sharrow Weaving. Stretches of the river offer boating facilities whilst the upper reaches are a fly fisherman's paradise. Further upstream, the Mooi River Falls are a marvellous site to watch when the river is flooded. The predominant occupation in the area is agriculture, with a wide range of agricultural products being produced.
