The results presented in this publication have been derived from the manufacturing large sample survey. This is a periodic survey, which measures economic activity in the manufacturing industry of the South African economy. This survey is based on a sample of private and public enterprises operating in the manufacturing industry. This survey covers the following income tax registered private and public enterprises that are mainly engaged in manufacturing: Food products and beverages; Textiles, clothing, leather and footwear; Wood and wood products, paper, publishing and printing; Petroleum, chemical products, rubber and plastic products; Glass and non-metallic mineral products; Basic iron and steel, non-ferrous metal products, metal products and machinery; Electrical machinery and apparatus; Radio, television and communication apparatus and professional equipment; Motor vehicles, parts and accessories and other transport equipment; Furniture and other manufacturing divisions.read more »

Tsolwana

Tsolwana Local Municipality has two main urban centres, Tarkastad and Hofmeyr, and about 11 rural villages scattered within the former Ntabethemba area, including Thornhill, Mitford, Rocklands, Tendergate, etc.  Tsolwana covers an area of approximately 6 000 square km in extent with a density of about six people per square km. The extent of local area of jurisdiction translates to 4,2% of the district as a whole.

Inkwanca Local Municipality is an administrative area in the Chris Hani District of the Eastern Cape in South Africa. Inkwanca is an isiXhosa name meaning cold. Lukhanji

Lukhanji is a category B municipality situated within the Chris Hani District of the Eastern Cape. It is made up of a combination of the greater Queenstown and surrounding farms and villages, Ilinge, Hewu/Whittlesea and Ntabethemba. Lukhanji is landlocked by the municipalities of Tsolwana and Inkwanca to the west, Emalahleni and Intsika Yethu to the north, and Amahlathi to the east. Lukhanji occupies a strategic geographic position within the Chris Hani District Municipality and covers approximately 4 231 km².
