uMhlathuze

uMhlathuze Local Municipality is situated on the north-eastern coast of KwaZulu-Natal. The city provides an attractive reference point and essential socio-economic amenities and facilities to most of the towns in the northern region.read more »

Nkandla

Nkandla is situated in a remote area of breathtaking mountainous beauty, which consists mainly of tribal lands and state-owned land. The area has a wealth of undisturbed forests, which boast many indigenous species. Nkandla has a claim to be the �cradle� of Zulu history. From Malandela to Shaka, to Dingane and Cetshwayo, Nkandla has been at the centre stage of the Zulu nation�s history. The graves of King Malandela and Cetshwayo are at Nkandla. Nkandla Town is the only urban area in Nkandla Municipality which offers the full array of urban development, albeit at a smaller scale compared to the majority of towns in KwaZulu-Natal. Mfolozi

The municipality is named after the Mfolozi River, and forms part of the Uthungulu District Municipality. The Mfolozi Local Municipality is ideally placed for both industrial and residential development, as well as the expansion of its existing timber industry.read more »

Ntambanana

The Ntambanana Municipality is located in Bhuchanana North, in the eastern part of the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast; it is set amongst rising and falling green hills that rise from coastal plains in the east to the end of the plateau in the west.

uMlalazi

uMlalazi Local Municipality is made up of the towns of Eshowe, Mtunzini, and Gingindlovu. The villages of Amatikulu and Ntumeni, together with considerable rural hinterland, cover one of the largest geographical areas of all municipalities in South Africa, with a total area of 2�217 km2. The municipal area is dominated by tribal areas, and 14 Tribal Authorities exist within the area (uMlalazi municipality website). The area appears to have sufficient sources for the provision of water. A complicating factor is the undulating topography, which is characteristic of the entire municipal area. In some instances it is therefore difficult and expensive to provide these services. Arterial roads through the area are in good condition. In practically all instances district roads and farm roads are in poor condition and in need of upgrading.read more »
