George

George Local Municipality forms part of the Eden District Municipality and is situated in the middle of Knysna, Oudtshoorn, Mossel Bay and Hessequa Local Municipalities. The municipality is classified as a category B municipality, and is inter alia responsible for basic service delivery. George is located along the N2 highway. Its strategic location along the N2 highway to Cape Town and the Eastern Cape facilitates mobility of people, goods and services (http://www.george.org.za).

Beaufort West

Beaufort West Local Municipality is located in the Western Cape Province of South Africa, and forms part of the Central Karoo District Municipality.

On 03 February 1837, a proclamation appeared in the Government Gazette stating that Beaufort had been granted municipal government, and thus it became the first municipality in South Africa.To avoid confusion with Fort Beaufort and Port Beaufort, the name Beaufort was changed to Beaufort West in the 1860s (www.beaufortwestmun.co.za).
