Mtubatuba

Mtubatuba is one of the five municipalities within Umkhanyakude District Municipality in KwaZulu Natal. Mtubatuba was named after the inkosi Mtubatuba of the Mkhwanazi Clan.� It is situated on the north-east coast of the province, and was home to 175� 425 people. �Covering an area of approximately 1970km� Mtubatuba Municipality was one of the most urbanised municipality within the district, with 15% of the municipality falling under urban areas. The two main town areas are Mtubatuba and St Lucia. �The vast majority of the municipality was under traditional authority - almost 80% - indicating a high proportion of people residing in scattered, rural villages under the jurisdiction of traditional authorities. �The Isimangaliso Wetland Park World Heritage Site falls under Matubatuba.read more »

Ndwedwe

Ndwedwe Local Municipality is one of the four local municipalities within the Ilembe District Municipality. It has unique tourism attractions (Zulu Rural Cultural Trail) such as the Nhlangakazi Holy Mountain, which represents a significant cultural and religious attraction. It also has beautiful mountains such as the Ozwathini Mountain; KwaMatabata Mountain; Carmen Mountain; KwaMkhalanga Mountain and Goqweni Mountain. These mountains accommodate activities such as 4x4 routes; hiking trails, horse trails; camping sites; caravan parks; and birding. Ethekwini

eThekwini Municipality is located on the east coast of South Africa in the Province of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).� The Municipality spans an area of approximately 2 297km� and is home to some 3,5 million people.� It consists of a diverse society, which faces various social, economic, environmental, and governance challenges.

Makhado

Named after a 19th century vhaVenda king, Makhado, who ruled the area for many years, this is a fertile region where litchis, bananas, mangoes and nuts are produced. The national road (N1) runs through the town.

Makhado is situated in a highly fertile, rapidly growing agricultural area; the town has become one of Limpopo's premier business and tourist destinations and is the perfect springboard from which to visit the Songozwi sacred burial site of the vhaVenda, as well as Makhado's 'office', a secluded cave from where the chief conducted his campaign against the Voortrekkers.

The well-known town of Louis Trichardt is situated at the foot of the Soutpansberg mountain range in Limpopo and was developed from the Voortrekker settlement in the area. It was named after the leader Louis Trichardt, who moved away from British rule in the Cape and arrived here in 1836.

Blouberg

This municipality is in Limpopo and was originally established in the year 2000 after the amalgamation of the Bochum-My-Darling, Alldays-Buysdorp, and parts of Moletjie-Matlala TLCs. It is situated in the North western boundary of the Republic of South Africa with Botswana and Zimbabwe where the Limpopo River serves as the border between the municipality, Botswana and Zimbabwe. It is largely a rural municipality with 99,8% of the settlement being tribal or traditional and it is situated 95 km from Polokwane and has 21 wards.
