The annual financial statistics survey (AFS), previously published as the economic activity survey (EAS), contains estimates of financial data for the following industries: Forestry and fishing, mining and quarrying, manufacturing, electricity, gas and water supply, construction, trade, transport, storage and communication, real estate and other business services (excluding financial intermediation and insurance, but including activities auxiliary to financial intermediation) and community, social and personal services (excluding government institutions). The report discusses the readiness of households, during COVID-19, for alternative or remote learning options available to learners from radio, television based instructions to internet-based instructions. These options required access to the necessary technology or tools by households to benefit from these methods of learning. The report shows the strong urban-rural digital divide as well as the inequality by income in access to internet. The report also shows not all learners had access to remote learning options.
