The 28th International Population Conference & Geography Education in Schools

In October 2017, South Africa will be hosting the 28th International Population Conference in Cape Town. In preparation for the conference, Statistics SA will be a rolling out a programme for Grade 10 learners in the discipline of Geography, given the data analysis gaps in the curriculum for Grade 10. Together with the International Union on the Scientific Study for Population (IUSSP), Stats SA is developing a programme that will include: – The development of a Grade 10 reader on the Population of South Africa: 55 Million and Counting; – Workshops on Teaching Population to teachers of Geography; and, -A population geography poster project for Grade 10 learners as part of the participation at the 28th International Population Conference in Cape Town in 2017 |
