South Africa’s Statistics Symposium – Towards strengthening the South African National Statistics System 

Statistics South Africa and the Statistics Council will host a three day Statistics Symposium on strengthening the South African National Statistics System. The Symposium will be opened by the Minister in the Presidency, Honourable Minister Jeff Radebe and will host a range of speakers from South Africa and beyond who will speak on various aspects of coordinating the statistical production within a national statistics system.

Some of the topics to be covered include a discussion on the fundamental principles of official statistics, country practices in implementing the National Statistics System, demand for statistics in monitoring and evaluation, the National Development Plan (NDP) and the post 2015 development agenda.
