Postponement notice: General household survey

Postponement notice: General household survey                                                                        27 May 2021

Please note that the release of the results of the General household survey, originally scheduled for 27 May, has been rescheduled to a future date that will be communicated as soon as it is finalised.

The need to halt face-to-face fieldwork in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic led to the organisation changing its methodology from Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) to Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) for the first time. This change was necessitated by the need to ensure continued data collection during the COVID-19 pandemic. This change requires additional data confrontation and analysis to be done before the GHS data can be published.

Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) is committed to ensuring that the data it publishes is of high quality and fit-for-use. We apologise for any inconvenience this delay causes.
