Blouberg means 'blue mountain' in Afrikaans, and is named after the Blouberg mountain which, when viewed from Table Bay, assumes the colour of blue. The mountain got its name from the Dutch Blaauwberg. (GPS coordinates: 33.8186 S, 18.5032 E).
