The value of buildings reported as completed to municipalities in the monthly and annual surveys decreased by 3,4% from R63 071,2 million in 2008 to R60 945,0 million in 2009. The category responsible for the decrease of 3,4% was residential buildings (-12,5% or -R4 390,6 million). Increases were reported for additions and alterations (15,9% or R1 821,3 million) and non-residential buildings (2,7% or R443,1 million).
