Key findings: Report-03-51-02 - Tourism, 2019
The
total number of foreign travellers who visited South Africa from Africa,
overseas and unspecified countries, arriving through all ports of entry during
2019 was 15 825 296. The 2019 figure represents a decrease of 0,7% as compared
with the 2018 figure of 15 939 855. Foreign arrivals were made up of 1 027 824 non-visitors and 14 797 472 visitors. Visitors were made up of 4 568 879 same-day
visitors and 10 228 593 tourists (overnight visitors). February
recorded the lowest number of non-visitors (73 338). The monthly volume of
same-day visitors ranged from 335 382 in February to 500 145 in
December with a monthly average of 380 740 visitors.
