The total number of foreign travellers who visited South Africa from Africa, overseas and unspecified countries, arriving through all ports of entry during 2024 was 11 729 224. The 2024 figure represents an increase of 0,6% as compared with the 2023 figure of 11 655 083. Foreign arrivals were made up of 306 494 non-visitors and 11 422 730 visitors. Visitors were made up of 2 503 360 same-day visitors and 8 919 370 tourists (overnight visitors). The breakdown of tourists by sex and age is as follows: 5 148 444 were males, 3 770 926 were females; 472 353 were less than 15, 752 995 were aged 15-24, 2 109 191 were aged 25-34, 2 619 032 were aged 35-44, 1 619 619 were aged 45-54, 820 068 were aged 55-64, 526 099 were aged 65 and older and 13 did not specify their age.
