Key findings: P9114 - Financial Census of Municipalities, June 2008
Acid test ratio
Municipalities throughout the country recorded the acid test ratio of 1,4:1 during each of the financial years ended June 2007 and June 2008.
Current ratio
The current ratio of municipalities was 1,5:1 in 2007 financial year and dropped to 1,4:1 in 2008 financial year.
Water
The overall increase in the purchases and sales of water by municipalities for the country between 2007 and 2008 financial years was 8,9% and 8,3% respectively.
Electricity
Purchases of electricity by municipalities increased by 8.9% between 2007 and 2008 financial years. An increase of 9,0% was recorded in the sales of electricity over the same period.
