This statistical release provides information on the sources and uses of cash of extra-budgetary accounts and funds for the fiscal years 2009/2010 and 2010/2011, classified economically and functionally. The net change in the stock of cash from the national and provincial extra-budgetary accounts and funds amounted to R3 929 million for the 2010/2011 fiscal year. The amount has decreased from R6 294 million in 2009/2010.
   
   
1. Major Influences

The major contributors to the amount of R3 929 million of net change in the stock of cash of extra-budgetary accounts and funds for the fiscal year 2010/2011 are the cash receipts from operating activities, R113 468 million (2009/2010: R108 061 million); cash payments for operating activities, R88 875 million, (2009/2010: R83 660 million); purchases of non-financial assets, R6 626 million, (2009/2010: R5 739 million); sales of non-financial assets, R544 million (2009/2010: R303 million); net acquisition of financial assets other than cash, R14 674 million (2009/2010: R12 815 million); and net incurrence of liabilities, R92 million (2009/2010: R144 million), (see Table A, p.5).
