Net change in the stock of cash from the national and provincial extra-budgetary accounts and funds amounted to R3 319 million for the 2007/2008 fiscal year

This statistical release provides information on the sources and uses of cash of extra-budgetary accounts and funds for the fiscal year 2006/2007 and 2007/2008, classified economically and functionally. The net change in the stock of cash from the national and provincial extra-budgetary accounts and funds amounted to R3 319 million for the 2007/2008 fiscal year. The amount has increased from R1 769 million in 2006/2007.
   
   
1. Major Influences

The major contributors to the amount of R3 319  million of net change in the stock of cash of extra-budgetary accounts and funds for the fiscal year 2007/2008 are the cash receipts from operating activities, R86 586 million (2006/2007: R75 948 million); cash payments for operating activities, R67 466 million, (2006/2007: R61 707 million); purchases of non-financial assets, R6 264 million, (2006/2007: R4 226 million); sales of non-financial assets, R148 million (2006/2007: R107 million); net acquisition of financial assets other than cash, R9 813 million (2006/2007: R9 672 million); and net incurrence of liabilities, R128 million (2006/2007: -R1 319 million), (see Table A, p.5).
