This statistical release provides information on the sources and uses of cash of extra-budgetary accounts and funds for the fiscal year 2005/2006 and 2006/2007, classified economically and functionally. The net change in the stock of cash from the national and provincial extra-budgetary accounts and funds amounted to R1 607 million for the 2006/2007 fiscal year. The amount has decreased from R3 672 million in 2005/2006.
   
   
1. Major Influences

The major contributors to the amount of R1 607 million of net change in the stock of cash of extra-budgetary accounts and funds for the fiscal year 2006/2007 are the cash receipts from operating activities, R75 642 million (2005/2006: R67 550 million); cash payments for operating activities, R61 566 million, (2005/2006: R51 495 million); purchases of non-financial assets, R4 159 million, (2005/2006: R4 086 million); sales of non-financial assets, R98 million (2005/2006: R62 million); net acquisition of financial assets other than cash, R9 665 million (2005/2006: R7 895 million); and net incurrence of liabilities, R1 257 million (2005/2006: -R465 million), (see Table A, p.4).
