Key findings: P7162 - Land transport survey, April 2015
Freight transportation
The volume of goods transported (payload) decreased by 7,0% in April 2015 compared with April 2014. The corresponding income decreased by 4,1% over the same period.
Income from freight transportation increased by 0,7% in the three months ended April 2015 compared with the three months ended April 2014. The main contributor to this increase was primary mining and quarrying products (2,1% and contributing 0,8 of a percentage point)
Passenger transportation
The number of passenger journeys decreased by 2,9% in April 2015 compared with April 2014. The corresponding income increased by 3,9% over the same period.
