Freight transportation

The volume of goods transported (payload) increased by 3,6% in February 2015 compared with February 2014. The corresponding income increased by 4,2% over the same period.

Income from freight transportation increased by 5,2% in the three months ended February 2015 compared with the three months ended February 2014. The main contributors to this increase were:

  • primary mining and quarrying products (16,8% and contributing 5,8 percentage points); and
  • agriculture and forestry primary products (20,2% and contributing 1,5 percentage points).

Passenger transportation

The number of passenger journeys decreased by 5,8% in February 2015 compared with February 2014. The corresponding income increased by 1,6% over the same period.
