Key findings: P7162 - Land transport survey, February 2014

The volume of goods transported (payload) decreased by 4,4% in February 2014 compared with February 2013. The corresponding income increased by 4,7% over the same period. Income from freight transportation increased by 6,4% in the three months ended February 2014 compared with the three months ended February 2013. The main contributors to this increase were: • ‘other’ freight (29,9% and contributing 2,6 percentage points); • basic metals and fabricated metal products (14,6% and contributing 0,7 of a percentage point); and agriculture and forestry primary products (11,0% and contributing 0,7 of a percentage point). Passenger transportation The number of passenger journeys decreased by 0,8% in February 2014 compared with February 2013. The corresponding income increased by 6,4% over the same period.
