Income from freight transportation

The income from freight transportation for the three months ended January 2010 increased by 5,5% compared with the three months ended January 2009. Income from freight transportation for January 2010 increased by 10,6% compared with January 2009. The volume of goods transported (payload) for January 2010 increased by 0,7% compared with January 2009.

The main contributor to the increase of 5,5% in income from freight transportation for the three months ended January 2010 compared with the three months ended January 2009 was primary mining and quarrying products (36,2% and contributing 8,4 percentage points).

Income from passenger transportation

The income from passenger transportation for the three months ended January 2010 increased by 4,7% compared with the three months ended January 2009. Income from passenger transportation for January 2010 increased by 6,5% compared with January 2009. The number of passengers for January 2010 decreased by 2,1% compared with January 2009.

The main contributor to the increase of 4,7% in income from passenger transportation for the three months ended January 2010 compared with the three months ended January 2009 was road passenger transportation (6,6% and contributing 4,9 percentage points).
