Year-on-year percentage change in food and beverages income at constant 2015 prices by type of income

 

Measured in real terms (constant 2015 prices), total income generated by the food and beverages industry decreased by 36,3% in November 2020 compared with November 2019. The largest decrease was recorded for bar sales (-54,3%).

 In November 2020, the main contributors to the 36,3% year-on-year decrease were:

  • restaurants and coffee shops (-51,3% and contributing -25,8 percentage points); and
  • catering services (-50,3% and contributing -8,2 percentage points).

Total income decreased by 35,4% in the three months ended November 2020 compared with the three months ended November 2019. The main contributors to this decrease were:

  • restaurants and coffee shops (-52,4% and contributing -26,9 percentage points); and
  • catering services (-51,5% and contributing -8,1 percentage points).

 

Seasonally adjusted food and beverages income decreased by 1,9% in November 2020 compared with October 2020. This followed month-on-month changes of 7,5% in October 2020 and 12,0% in September 2020.
