Measured in real terms (constant 2015 prices), total income generated by the food and beverages industry increased by 3,8% in September 2017 compared with September 2016. Food sales grew by 4,6%.

In September 2017, positive annual growth rates were recorded for restaurants and coffee shops (8,4% and contributing 4,2 percentage points) and takeaway and fast-food outlets (1,6% and contributing 0,6 of a percentage point).

Food and beverages income at constant 2015 prices for the latest three months by type of enterprise

Total income increased by 2,7% in the third quarter of 2017 compared with the third quarter of 2016. The main contributor to this increase was restaurants and coffee shops (6,7% and contributing 3,4 percentage points).

Seasonally adjusted food and beverages income increased by 0,9% month-on-month in September 2017. The largest month-on-month growth rate was recorded for catering services (2,6%).
