Year-on-year percentage change in food and beverages income at constant 2012 prices by type of income

Measured in real terms (constant 2012 prices), total income generated by the food and beverages industry increased by 1,4% in April 2016 compared with April 2015. Positive annual growth rates were recorded for bar sales (9,0%) and food sales (0,9%).

In April 2016, positive annual growth rates were recorded for takeaway and fast-food outlets (2,9% and contributing 1,1 percentage points) and restaurants and coffee shops (2,8% and contributing 1,2 percentage points).

Food and beverages income at constant 2012 prices for the latest three months by type of enterprise

Total income increased by 1,7% in the three months ended April 2016 compared with the three months ended April 2015. Positive contributors to this increase were:
restaurants and coffee shops (4,3% and contributing 1,9 percentage points); and
takeaway and fast-food outlets (2,9% and contributing 1,1 percentage points).
