The total income generated by the food and beverages industry for October 2011 increased by 3,5% compared with October 2010. The main contributor to this increase was food sales (4,4% and contributing 3,8 percentage points).
 
The main contributor to the annual growth rate of 3,5% in total income for October 2011 was takeaway and fast-food outlets (13,4% and contributing 3,8 percentage points), followed by restaurants and coffee shops (0,3% and contributing 0,2 of a percentage point). These increases were marginally counteracted by the decrease in catering services (-2,9% and contributing -0,5 of a percentage point).

The total income generated by the food and beverages industry for the three months ended October 2011 increased by 5,0% compared with the three months ended October 2010. The main contributor to this increase was food sales (5,6% and contributing 4,8 percentage points).
 
The year-on-year increase of 5,0% in total income for the three months ended October 2011 was driven by takeaway and fast-food outlets (13,1% and contributing 3,6 percentage points), followed by restaurants and coffee shops (2,3% and contributing 1,3 percentage points) and catering services (0,4% and contributing 0,1 of a percentage point).
