Total income from food and beverages industry for April 2011
The total income generated by the food and beverages industry for April 2011 was 10,9% higher than April 2010. The main contributor to this increase was food sales (11,4% and contributing 10,0 percentage points).
The annual positive growth rate of 10,9% in total income for April 2011 was driven by restaurants and coffee shops (11,4% and contributing 6,0 percentage points) and takeaway and fast-food outlets (20,8% and contributing 5,4 percentage points).
Total income from food and beverages industry for the three months ended April 2011
The total income generated by the food and beverages industry for the three months ended April 2011 increased by 9,2% compared with the three months ended April 2010. The main contributor to this increase was food sales (10,0% and contributing 8,7 percentage points).
The year-on-year increase of 9,2% in total income for the three months ended April 2011 was driven by restaurants and coffee shops (8,5% and contributing 4,5 percentage points), takeaway and fast-food outlets (16,4% and contributing 4,2 percentage points) and caterers (5,7% and contributing 0,9 of a percentage point).
