Total income from food and beverages industry for March 2011
The total income generated by the food and beverages industry for March 2011 was 7,6% higher than March 2010. The main contributor to this increase was food sales (8,9% and contributing 7,8 percentage points).
The annual positive growth rate of 7,6% in total income for March 2011 was driven by restaurants and coffee shops (8,1% and contributing 4,3 percentage points), takeaway and fast-food outlets (11,8% and contributing 3,0 percentage points) and caterers (5,7% and contributing 0,9 of a percentage point).
Total income from food and beverages industry for the first quarter of 2011
The total income generated by the food and beverages industry for the first quarter of 2011 increased by 7,4% compared with the first quarter of 2010. The main contributor to this increase was food sales (8,8% and contributing 7,6 percentage points).
The year-on-year increase of 7,4% in total income for the first quarter of 2011 was driven by restaurants and coffee shops (7,1% and contributing 3,8 percentage points), takeaway and fast-food outlets (11,1% and contributing 2,9 percentage points) and caterers (9,4% and contributing 1,5 percentage points).
