The annual positive growth rate of 3,7% in total income for January 2011 was driven by takeaway and fast-food outlets (7,3% and contributing 2,0 percentage points), restaurants and coffee shops (2,8% and contributing 1,5 percentage points) and caterers (11,0% and contributing 1,5 percentage points).

The total income generated by the food and beverages industry for the three months ended January 2011 increased by 8,2% compared with the three months ended January 2010. The main contributor to this increase was food sales (8,3% and contributing 7,3 percentage points).

The year-on-year increase of 8,2% in total income for the three months ended January 2011 was driven by restaurants and coffee shops (7,6% and contributing 4,0 percentage points), takeaway and fast-food outlets (8,6% and contributing 2,4 percentage points) and caterers (16,3% and contributing 2,3 percentage points).
