Key findings: P6410 - Tourist accommodation, January 2025
Measured in
nominal terms (current prices), total income for the tourist accommodation
industry increased by 12,1% in January 2025
compared with January 2024.
Income from
accommodation increased by 16,7% year-on-year in January 2025, the result of a 4,5% increase in the number of stay
unit nights sold and an 11,7% increase in the average income per stay unit
night sold.
In January 2025, the main contributors to the 16,7% year-on-year increase in income from accommodation were:
- hotels (24,6% and contributing 14,1 percentage points); and
- ‘other’ accommodation (7,7% and contributing 2,7 percentage points).
Income from accommodation increased by 14,1% in the three months ended January 2025 compared with the three months ended January 2024. The main contributors to this increase were:
- hotels (17,7% and contributing 10,4 percentage points); and
- ‘other’ accommodation (9,2% and contributing 3,1 percentage points).
Seasonally adjusted income from accommodation
increased by 3,7% month-on-month in January 2025, following a decrease of 0,4%
month-on-month in December 2024.
