Key findings: P6410 - Tourist accommodation, February 2015

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), total income for the tourist accommodation industry increased by 3,7% in February 2015 compared with February 2014.

Income from accommodation increased by 2,8% year-on-year in February 2015, the result of a 6,2% decrease in the number of stay unit nights sold and a 9,6% increase in the average income per stay unit night sold.

In February 2015, the types of accommodation that recorded the highest year-on-year growth rates in income from accommodation were caravan parks and camping sites (7,5%) and hotels (5,1%).

The main contributor to the 2,8% year-on-year increase in income from accommodation in February 2015 was hotels (contributing 3,3 percentage points) .

Income from accommodation increased by 1,0% in the three months ended February 2015 compared with the three months ended February 2014. The main contributor to this increase was hotels (2,7% and contributing 1,7 percentage points).
