Key findings: P6410 - Tourist accommodation, August 2013

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), total income for the tourist accommodation industry increased by 15,2% in August 2013 compared with August 2012.

The types of accommodation that recorded the highest year-on-year growth rates in income from accommodation in August 2013 were hotels (15,8%) and 'other' accommodation (11,4%).

The main contributors to the 13,2% year-on-year increase in income from accommodation in August 2013 were hotels (contributing 10,0 percentage points) and 'other' accommodation (contributing 3,2 percentage points).

Income from accommodation increased by 10,6% in the three months ended August 2013 compared with the three months ended August 2012. The main contributors to this increase were:

  • hotels (10,8% and contributing 7,1 percentage points); and
  • 'other' accommodation (13,1% and contributing 3,5 percentage points).
