Key findings: P6410 - Tourist accommodation, March 2009
Total income for the accommodation industry decreases
Total income for the accommodation industry for the first quarter of 2009 decreased by 12,0% compared to the first quarter of 2008. Total income for the accommodation industry in March 2009 decreased by 14,1% compared to March 2008.
Income from accommodation decreases
Income from accommodation for the first quarter of 2009 decreased by 4,0% compared to the first quarter of 2008. This decrease was mainly due to the decrease of 9,5% in stay unit nights sold during the same period. Income from accommodation in March 2009 decreased by 4,8% compared to March 2008.
Stay units available increase
The number of stay units available increased by 0,6% between the first quarter of 2008 and the first quarter of 2009. The number of stay units available increased by 0,8% in March 2009 compared to March 2008.
Number of stay unit nights sold decreases
The number of stay unit nights sold for the first quarter of 2009 decreased by 9,5% compared to the first quarter of 2008. The number of stay unit nights sold in March 2009 decreased by 7,3% compared to March 2008.
