Tourist accomodation statistics show a increase in September 2005 compared to the same time last year.

The number of stay unit nights sold during the September 2005 increased by 3,5% compared September 2004. Furthermore, there has been a 6,3% increase in the number of stay unit nights sold during the third quarter of 2005 compared to the second quarter of 2005.

The occupancy rate in September 2005 (50,9%) increased by 4,6% compared with September 2004 (48,7%).

The occupancy rate for the third quarter of 2005 (48,2%) increased by 4,4% compared with the second quarter of 2005 (46,1%).

In September 2005, income from accommodation was R637,5 million. This was a increase of 12,0% compared with September 2004.

In the third quarter of 2005, income from accommodation was R1 744,0 million. This was an increase of 11,9% compared with the second quarter of 2005.
