Tourist accomodation statistics show a drop from the first quarter of 2005.

The number of stay unit nights sold during the second quarter of 2005 decreased by 11,9% compared with the first quarter of 2005. This decrease could be partly due to the number of holidays in January and March (Easter holidays) during the first quarter.

The occupancy rate for the second quarter of 2005 (46,1%) decreased by 13,0% compared with the first quarter of 2005 (52,0%).

In the second quarter of 2005, income from accommodation was R1 559,1 million. This was a decrease of 22,0 % compared with the first quarter of 2005.
