Actual motor trade sales estimates


Measured in nominal terms (current prices), motor trade sales decreased by 4,5% year-on-year in November 2019. The largest negative annual growth rates were recorded for:

·         fuel sales (-7,0%);

·         new vehicle sales (-6,8%); and

·         used vehicle sales (-3,4%).

 

Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales decreased by 2,0% in November 2019 compared with October 2019. This followed month-on-month changes of 0,9% in October 2019 and -3,0% in September 2019.


In the three months ended November 2019, seasonally adjusted motor trade sales decreased by 2,0% compared with the previous three months.

 

Motor trade sales decreased by 1,8% in the three months ended November 2019 compared with the three months ended November 2018. The main negative contributor was fuel sales (-7,5% and contributing -2,3 percentage points).
