Key findings: P6343.2 - Motor trade sales, June 2022

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), motor trade sales increased by 16,2% year-on-year in June 2022. The largest annual growth rates were recorded for:

·       fuel sales (29,0%);

·       workshop income (15,7%); and

·       used vehicle sales (14,8%).

 

Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales decreased by 0,7% in June 2022 compared with May 2022. This followed month-on-month changes of 2,5% in May 2022 and -0,1% in April 2022.

 

In the second quarter of 2022, seasonally adjusted motor trade sales increased by 2,2% compared with the first quarter of 2022.

 

Motor trade sales increased by 14,9% in the second quarter of 2022 compared with the second quarter of 2021. The main contributors to this increase were:

  • fuel sales (25,1% and contributing 7,5 percentage points);
  • new vehicle sales (13,7% and contributing 2,6 percentage points); and
  • used vehicle sales (10,8% and contributing 2,4 percentage points).
