Key findings: P6343.2 - Motor trade sales, November 2021

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), motor trade sales increased by 13,7% year-on-year in November 2021. The largest annual growth rates were recorded for:

·       fuel sales (22,8%);

·       sales of accessories (12,2%);

·       used vehicle sales (11,6%); and

·       new vehicle sales (10,8%).

 

Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales increased by 1,5% in November 2021 compared with October 2021. This followed month-on-month changes of 0,1% in October 2021 and 2,2% in September 2021.

 

In the three months ended November 2021, seasonally adjusted motor trade sales increased by 7,9% compared with the previous three months.

 

Motor trade sales increased by 10,0% in the three months ended November 2021 compared with the three months ended November 2020. The main contributors to this increase were:

·       fuel sales (16,7% and contributing 4,6 percentage points); and

·       new vehicle sales (11,8% and contributing 2,5 percentage points).
