Key findings: P6343.2 - Motor trade sales, November 2016

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), motor trade sales increased by 4,2% year-on-year in November 2016. The largest annual growth rates were recorded for:

  • used vehicle sales (13,9%);
  • sales of accessories (8,0%); and
  • convenience store sales (5,5%).

Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales increased by 0,7% in November 2016 compared with October 2016. This followed month-on-month changes of 0,5% in October 2016 and 1,4% in September 2016.

In the three months ended November 2016, seasonally adjusted motor trade sales increased by 0,3% compared with the previous three months.

Motor trade sales increased by 1,1% in the three months ended November 2016 compared with the three months ended November 2015. The main contributors were:

  • used vehicle sales (11,0% and contributing 1,9 percentage points);
  • sales of accessories (6,1% and contributing 1,1 percentage points); and
  • new vehicle sales (-7,1% and contributing -2,0 percentage points).
