Actual motor trade sales estimates

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), motor trade sales decreased by 0,8% year-on-year in May 2015. The only negative annual growth rate was recorded for fuel sales (-7,4%).

Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales increased by 1,9% in May 2015 compared with April 2015. This followed month-on-month changes of -6,1% in April 2015 and 5,0% in March 2015.

Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales increased by 0,8% in the three months ended May 2015 compared with the previous three months.

Motor trade sales increased by 1,3% in the three months ended May 2015 compared with the three months ended May 2014. The main contributors to this increase were:

  • sales of accessories (11,1% and contributing 1,9 percentage points); and
  • used vehicle sales (6,6% and contributing 1,1 percentage points).
