Actual motor trade sales estimates

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), motor trade sales increased by 8,1% year-on-year in September 2014. The highest annual growth rates were recorded for workshop income (18,1%) and sales of accessories (14,7%).

Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales increased by 1,3% in September 2014 compared with August 2014. This followed month-on-month changes of -0,4% in August 2014 and 1,3% in July 2014.

Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales increased by 2,9% in the third quarter of 2014 compared with the previous quarter.

Motor trade sales increased by 4,4% in the third quarter of 2014 compared with the third quarter of 2013. The main contributors to this increase were:

  • fuel sales (4,6% and contributing 1,3 percentage points);
  • sales of accessories (7,1% and contributing 1,2 percentage points); and
  • used vehicle sales (5,9% and contributing 1,0 percentage point).
