Actual motor trade sales estimates

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), motor trade sales increased by 2,7% year-on-year in June 2013. The highest annual growth rates were recorded for workshop income (8,8%), fuel sales (6,8%) and convenience store sales (4,5%).

Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales decreased by 3,2% in June 2013 compared with May 2013. This followed month-on-month changes of 0,5% in May 2013 and 1,0% in April 2013.

Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales increased by 1,1% in the second quarter of 2013 compared with the previous quarter.

Motor trade sales increased by 8,9% in the second quarter of 2013 compared with the second quarter of 2012. The major contributors to this increase were:

  • new vehicle sales (10,7% and contributing 3,1 percentage points);
  • fuel sales (7,4% and contributing 2,2 percentage points); and
  • used vehicle sales (10,6% and contributing 1,6 percentage points).
