Actual motor trade sales estimates

Motor trade sales for the second quarter of 2012 increased by 14,2% compared with the second quarter of 2011. Sales for the corresponding period in 2011 increased by 12,7%.

The major contributors to the increase of 14,2% were new vehicle sales (24,3% and contributing 6,5 percentage points), fuel sales (12,1% and contributing 3,4 percentage points) and sales of accessories (10,1% and contributing 1,8 percentage points).

Motor trade sales rose by 11,2% year-on-year in June 2012. The highest annual growth rate was recorded for new vehicle sales (26,1%), followed by fuel sales (9,7%) and workshop income (6,7%).

Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales

In June 2012 seasonally adjusted motor trade sales decreased by 1,8% month-on-month, following month-on-month changes of 4,1% in May 2012 and 2,6% in April 2012. Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales for the second quarter of 2012 increased by 4,3% compared with the first quarter of 2012.
