Actual motor trade sales estimates

Motor trade sales for the three months ended October 2011 increased by 16,4% compared with the three months ended October 2010. Sales for the corresponding period in 2010 increased by 17,0%.

The major contributors to the increase of 16,4% were fuel sales (28,3% and contributing 7,0 percentage points), new vehicle sales (21,9% and contributing 5,8 percentage points) and sales of accessories (11,3% and contributing 2,1 percentage points).

Motor trade sales rose by 15,2% year-on-year in October 2011. The highest annual growth rate was recorded for fuel sales (29,6%), followed by new vehicle sales (23,3%).

Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales

In October 2011 seasonally adjusted motor trade sales decreased by 3,0% month-on-month, following month-on-month changes of 5,3% in September 2011 and 6,6% in August 2011. Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales for the three months ended October 2011 increased by 5,7% compared with the three months ended July 2011.
