Key findings: P6343.2 - Motor trade sales, September 2011
Actual motor trade sales estimates
Motor trade sales for the third quarter of 2011 increased by 14,2% compared with the third quarter of 2010. Sales for the corresponding period in 2010 increased by 16,7%.
The major contributors to the increase of 14,2% were fuel sales (26,1% and contributing 6,4 percentage points) and new vehicle sales (17,7% and contributing 4,8 percentage points).
Motor trade sales rose by 20,4% year-on-year in September 2011. The highest annual growth rate was recorded for new vehicle sales (32,7%), followed by fuel sales (30,2%) and income from the sales of accessories (11,7%).
Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales
In September 2011 seasonally adjusted motor trade sales increased by 4,6% month-on-month, following month-on-month changes of 6,3% in August 2011 and -5,8% in July 2011. Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales for the third quarter of 2011 increased by 1,9% compared with the second quarter of 2011.
