Actual motor trade sales estimates

The actual motor trade sales estimates for the second quarter of 2011 increased by 13,0% compared with the second quarter of 2010. Sales for the corresponding period in 2010 increased by 18,1%.

The major contributors to the increase of 13,0% were fuel sales (22,8% and contributing 5,8 percentage points) and new vehicle sales (15,9% and contributing 4,1 percentage points).

Motor trade sales rose by 17,2% year-on-year in June 2011. The highest annual growth rate was recorded for fuel sales (23,1%), followed by new vehicle sales (20,8%) and used vehicle sales (20,7%).

Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales

In June 2011 seasonally adjusted motor trade sales increased by 2,6% month-on-month, following month-on-month changes of 0,8% in May 2011 and -1,7% in April 2011. Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales for the second quarter of 2011 increased by 2,2% compared with the first quarter of 2011.
