Key findings: P6343.2 - Motor trade sales, December 2007

Motor trade sales grew by 9,4% in 2007 compared with 2006. This was the lowest annual increase since 2000. The slowdown in 2007 was mainly influenced by low sales reported for the sale of new vehicles.

Motor trade sales for the fourth quarter of 2007 increased by 7,4% compared with the fourth quarter of 2006. This is substantially lower than the 13,1% increase reported for the fourth quarter of 2006 compared with the fourth quarter of  2005.

Motor trade sales for December 2007 increased by 2,4% compared with December 2006 while the corresponding period for 2006 increased by 12,2%.

Seasonally adjusted motor trade sales for the fourth quarter of 2007 increased by 4,8% compared with the third quarter of 2007.
